Our Tarnish Promise

If an Orniva piece tarnishes within a year of normal wear, we'll restore or replace it. Email info@shoporniva.com with your order number and a photo.

Why we can say that

Most jewellery under £50 is brass. Brass is what turns skin green, and it's rarely named on the page — which is the point. Ours is 316L surgical-grade stainless steel with 18k gold plating, or solid 925 sterling silver.

We also wear it first. Nothing is listed on this site until one of us has worn it daily — showers, gym, sea water, perfume — and written down what happened. Some pieces have been worn for six months before they appeared here. It's slow and it doesn't scale, and it's the reason this promise costs us very little.

What it doesn't cover

Damage, breakage, or exposure to chlorine, perfume or cleaning products. Ordinary daily wear is exactly what these pieces are for — if one lets you down, we want to know.

On nickel

316L steel contains nickel, bound within the alloy, and releases so little that most people with sensitivities wear it without trouble. We'd rather tell you that than write "hypoallergenic", which means nothing in law. If you have a diagnosed nickel allergy, our sterling silver contains none at all.

This promise sits on top of your legal rights, it doesn't replace them.
